Video) "Controlled" Explosion Causes Alarm Near Military Base İn Southeast Turkey

A "controlled" explosion has occured at a military base in a southeastern Turkish province, causing alarm.

Ambulances and firefighters were dispached to the area after the explosion at the 20th Armoured Brigade Headquarters in Şanlıurfa, a province on Turkey's border with Syria.

Military sources said, an anti-tank mine was destroyed with a "planned and controlled way."

Voicing surprise over the brief public panic in the area, sources stressed that local officials were informed beforehand.

Windows of houses and shops in the neighborhood were shattered, eyewitnesses said.
