Total foreign debt of Turkish private sector rose by 14.5 billion dollars in 2014 to 212 billion dollars, according to the data released by the Central Bank of Turkey, on Friday.


Private sector's outstanding long-term loans received from abroad recorded rose to 167.5 billion dollars at the end of December, 11.5 billion dollars higher than at the end of 2013, while short-term foreign loans, excluding trade credits, rose by 3.0 billion dollars to 44.5 billion dollars, over the same period.


Banks' foreign loans increased by 5.9 billion dollars, while bond loans increased by 5.5 billion dollars in comparison to the end of 2013.


Non-bank financial institutions' loans fell by 1.5 billion dollars, while bond liabilities rose to 3.0 billion dollars increasing by 1.5 billion dollars in the same period.


Non-financial institutions' loans recorded a decrease of 814 million in comparison to the end of 2013, while bond liabilities amounted to 5.0 billion dollars increasing by 1.7 billion dollars in the same period.


Private sector's principal repayments do to be made in the next 12 months as at the end of December, stood at 71.7 billion dollars. - Istanbul
