Eu-Turkey Summit To Discuss Migration Flow

The European Union and Turkey's leaders are set to meet in Brussels to discuss migration issues and efforts to advance EU-Turkey relations, the chairman of the summit Donald Tusk announced via Twitter.

"I call an EU-Turkey summit on Sunday 29 November at 16: 00. Purpose: Re-energise our relations stem migration flow. My decision follows a positive recommendation by the (European) Commission and phone call this evening with Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu" said Tusk, on Nov. 23.

Tusk also shared an invitation letter ahead of the meeting via Twitter, which said at the recent meeting in Malta, relations with Turkey was discussed where the Commission was invited to "continue negotiations with Ankara with a view to adopting a joint Action Plan".

"In the light of a positive recommendation of the Commission, I have now decided to call a meeting of the Heads of State or government of the EU with Turkey this coming Sunday (29 November). The meeting will mark an important step in developing our relations and contribute to managing the migration crisis" he said in the invitation.

After the meeting with the President of the European Parliament a group photo will be taken, the statement added, followed by working session with Turkey.

Tusk said, he was looking forward to having a productive discussion with their Turkish counterpart. - Brussels
