Salaries Shrink As Dollar Hits Historical Record High İn Turkey, Amid Political Uncertainity

The salaries and wages shrank after the dollar hit the highest record of all time, exceeding the level of 2.87 liras.

While the minimum wage dropped under 350 dollars, the lowest teacher salary fell under 950 dollars, over the hike of exchange rate. Accordingly, retired worker salary dropped to 326 dollars.

The dollar has spiked over political uncertainties and security tension in Turkey, led to a shrink of salaries, as dollar exceeded 2.87 liras in July. With respect to the currency rate of August, the minimum wage dropped to 348 dollars from 371 dollars.

The minimum teacher salary of 2,681 liras, on the other hand, dropped to 934 dollars in August against the level of 996 dollars in July.

The minimum doctor salary at 3,734 lira level fell to 1,388 dollars in July, and 1,301 dollars in August.
