Turkey's Monthly İndustrial Production Unchanged İn April

Turkey's seasonally and calendar adjusted industrial production remained same compared with the previous month, according to the industrial production data released by Turkstat on Monday.

In the sub sectors of the industry, mining and quarrying index fell by 4.5 percent, manufacturing index remained same and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index increased by 2.1 percent in April, compared with the previous month.

Calendar adjusted industrial production increased by 3.8 percent compared with the same month last year, while mining and quarrying index fell by 5.0 percent, manufacturing index increased by 4.6 percent and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index increased by 2.1 percent in April 2015, compared with the same month last year.

The largest increase was in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 18.3 percent, followed by manufacture of other transport equipment by 11.7 percent and manufacture of tobacco products by 6.4 percent in April 2015, compared with the previous month.

The highest decrease was in repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 20.8 percent, it is followed by manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products by 9.6 percent and manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations by 6.6 percent in April 2015, compared with the previous month. - Istanbul
