Sırnak Mountains Keep Burning Down Over Clashes

In southeastern province of Şırnak, where five soldiers were killed after Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) attacks across region in the last 10 days, a fire has stroke Cudi, Küpeli, Çırav, Besta and Kilise Mountains over clashes between Turkish army and the PKK. The fire, mostly centred in the Kilise Mountain.

In southeastern province of Şırnak, where five soldiers were killed after Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) attacks across region in the last 10 days, a fire has stroke Cudi, Küpeli, Çırav, Besta and Kilise Mountains over clashes between Turkish army and the PKK.

The fire, mostly centred in the Kilise Mountain along with Hisar and Çağlayan regions, cannot be intervened by the villagers due to security measures. Habitants in the region has been concerned that the fire spread into neighbouring settlements.
