Coast guard teams found two toddlers' lifeless bodies after a boat carrying migrants from Turkey's Bodrum to Greece illegally sank off Muğla, on early Nov 27. Some 16 people were rescued, after the harsh weather conditions sank the boat into Aegean waters.
The toddlers who have lost their lives were siblings, according to recent reports, identified by their relatives as one-year-old Diven Halil Hüseyin and four-year-old Veren Halil Hüseyin.
According to initial reports, 20 Syrian migrants were in the boat.
While the migrants were put ashore by a coast guard boat, research rescue operations continue.
Meanwhile, a four-year-old girl named Ceylan Nesrin Solar Omar was found and hospitalized to Bodrum State Hospital.
Locals also helped the rescue operations, after having heard the outcries. "They always set sail from this coast. Another journey of hope ended with a tragedy" one of the locals said, referring to death of siblings. - Bodrum
