Groups protesting and praising Erdoğan's visit dispute in Washington

Nafiz Albayrak/ New York, March 30 (DHA) - The crucial visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to U.S. capital Washington sparked tension between groups supporting and slamming Erdoğan in front of his hotel building.

Erdoğan has arrived to Washington on March 29 within the Nuclear Security Summit. Erdoğan and his wife Emine Erdoğan was welcomed by the pro-Erdoğan group, followed by Erdoğan's brief press statement.

A group holding Turkish flags and banners which praise Erdoğan and a group protesting the President with puppets wearing prisoner costumes disputed and brawled in front of the hotel. Police teams intervented and defused the tension.
