Turkish Pm Confirms Sultanahmet Attacker Is Militant - Son Dakika
The suicide bomber, that has blown himself at the heart of touristic Sultanahmet district of Istanbul on Jan 12, is an Islamic State (IS) militant of foreign origin, announced Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu.
The suicide bomber has been previously identified as Nabil Fadlı of Saudi Arabian origin, born in 1988.
The blast killed at least 10 and wounded 15 including two in critical condition, while a significant part of the people killed after the attack was foreigners, said Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş after a security meeting in Çankaya Mansion, during a press conference.
