Incirlik Airbase Ready For French, German Fighter Jets

– In the Incirlik airbase in Turkey's border province of Adana, last preparations have been made prior to the expected deployment of war planes from France and Germany.

The airbase has been opened to US-led coalition forces fighting the Islamic State in Syria. Also, Berlin and Paris have recently notified Ankara of their desire to use Turkish bases to consolidate the battle against jihadists in Syria.

The successive landing/take offs of Turkish jets along with U.S. war planes fighting against the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq continue at the İncirlik airbase.

Incirlik airbase is now as the key airbase in the Middle East due to security crisis in Syria, after 24 years when U.S. forces had used the base for bombing Baghdad.

As Germany has drawn back its base in Kahranmaraş and U.S. base has been drawn back from Gaziantep, the base in Adana is expected to become a center for anti-IS air operations, after the request of France and Germany to use the base.

Christmas on the way

On the other hand, a "patriotville" offering accommodation and social services had been built in the airlines.

Foreigner military personnel and families boosted preparations for Christmas, while daily security routines continue in the region. The Incirlik personnel gathered to decorate the Christmas tree all together, at the airbase. Colonel John Walker made a speech, while people sang songs and 'Santa' gave presents.

The patriotville hosts around 2,500 foreigner personnel.
