Some 21 migrants including children have died over two deadly boat incidents in 24 hours, in attempt to cross from Turkey to Greece, Greek authorities said.
In the latest deadly boat disaster in the Aegean Sea, 18 people were killed and 138 people were rescued near the island of Kalymnos, while a separate incident killed three migrants, where six were rescued, early on Oct. 30.
Some 242 migrants rescued in the recent disasters have been sent to refugee camps in the Greek island of Lesbos, however the migrants gone missing over the incidents are feared to exceed 100 people, according to claims of relatives, families.
Pulled out of water, 15 children were sent to children's hospital, while three others were sent to Athens with military aircrafts.
Rescue works of the Greek Coast Guard and Frontex continue, in cooperation with fishermen volunteering to save migrants in the water.
The Greek Coast Guard announced 925 migrants have been rescued in 29 different incidents off the Greek islands of Lesbos, Kos, Chios and Samos.
