Largest Atatürk Mask İs Taken İnto Maintenance

– One of İzmir's symbols, 42 meters tall Atatürk mask is taken into maintenance by specialised mountain climbing team.

The largest relief of Turkey and tenth largest relief of the world, Atatürk mask, is taken into maintenance by Buca Municipality.

Buca Municipality took action after noticing paint cracks on some parts of the mask, caused by the sun and rain.

Due to the fact that cranes can not enter the area, specialised mountain climbers are handling the maintenance and reparation works.

Reaching the damaged parts of the mask, cheek, ear and eye brow areas with ropes, climbers have started repairing and painting works.

The maintenance and repair works are going to take three to four days.
