Scholar Signee Of Peace Petition Dismissed Without Explanation

A scholar in İzmir University Psychology Department Ekrem D. was dismissed by university officials after he signed scholars' "peace" petition.

University officials stated an investigation against Ekrem D. has been launched but did not show any justification for the decision.

The dismissal marked the latest of a chain of similar procedures against scholars. Dozens of academics who have signed a petition denouncing military operations in the southeast have been facing investigations, accused of "terror propaganda".
