Drafted by Britain, France and the United States, the measure on Tuesday won nine votes in favour, while three countries - China, Russia and Bolivia - opposed it.
Russian side stated that such a proposal to impose sanction on Syria would harm the peace talks ongoing in Geneva, criticising France and Britain who offered the draft.
The veto was Russia's seventh, while it was the sixth by China over sanctions proposed against Syria. - İstanbul
